The latest report of scandalous behaviour within the RCMP centres on K-Division Headquarters and it's making headlines across Canada.
The Ottawa Citizen reports a career member of the RCMP who ran the lie detector unit out of Edmonton Headquarters was accused of hosting after hours parties in his office, supplying drinks to female employees and making sexual advances. He was also investigated for sexual activity including in the room used to conduct polygraph examinations.
An RCMP disciplinary hearing has concluded there was a "serial pattern of disgraceful conduct" by Staff Sergeant Don Ray spread over several years beginning in 2006. The Ottawa Citizen adds when Ray "admitted to all allegations...and apologized in writing", the RCMP docked him 10 days pay, demoted him to Sergeant, and recommended that he be transferred.
