The WHL Championship Series is all tied up heading back to Portland, Oregon.

Brendan Leipsic and Sven Bartschi each scored twice in a 5-1 win for the Portland Winterhawks over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Friday night at Rexall Place. Kristians Pelss was the lone Edmonton player to get a puck past Mac Carruth, who made 38 saves in the win.

Taylor Peters also scored for the Winterhawks, who bounce back from a 3-2 game one loss.

Leipsic opened the scoring just 2:37 into the game and made it 2-0 midway through the second period off of an Edmonton turnover. Bartschi made it 3-0 with a slick one-timer on a Winterhawks power play 1:08 after the second Leipsic tally, and it would be 4-0 for the visitors heading into the break after Peters beat Laurent Brossoit on a partial breakaway at 18:38.

The Oil Kings got on the board early in the third period when Kristians Pelss jumped on a rebound for his fifth goal of the playoffs, but they weren't able to get anything else past Carruth.

Brossoit finished with 22 stops on the night. Game three goes on Sunday in Portland. (jk)
