A man from Mayerthorpe has been charged in connection with a fatal hit and run collision from last summer.
A man operating an ATV was killed on the evening of August 16 when a large truck hit the quad and fled the scene south of Mayerthorpe. While it appeared the crime might go unsolved, RCMP obtained information that allowed them to execute search warrants at two rural residences near Mayerthorpe in late April. Based on what they found, a charge of failing to report a collision has been laid against a 48-year old Mayerthorpe man.
He'll be in court next week (May 10th). (EM)
