A horrific incident involving two pet dogs in northwestern Alberta has led to charges against a B-C woman.
Grande Prairie R-C-M-P say it took place back on July 7th at a recreational area near Grovedale, Alberta.
Officers arrived to find the remains of a dog and its kennel burning in a fire pit of a camp site stall.
And Corporal Roy Kennedy says they were unable to find a second dog believed to be fatally injured.
53-year-old Debra Holden of Fort St. John, B-C has been charged with two counts of injuring or endangering animals and two counts of causing animals unnecessary suffering.
Investigators believe Holden had been drinking and in an argument with her husband who had left the campground before the dogs were killed.
