Alberta reviewing its expense policy
_News Talk 770
8/8/2012

Alberta is undertaking a broad government expense policy review after scandal rocked Alberta Health Services last week. Alberta Information Commissioner Jill Clayton and Associate Minister of Accountability Don Scott will be conducting the review.
Scott Hennig, Alberta Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, says they have been raising the issue of expense review and transparency for some time saying this is a partial victory for his group.
Allaudin Merali resigned last week as chief financial officer of Alberta Health Services over $346,000 in expense claims filed between 2005 and 2009.
The people conducting the review will report to the government, not the legislature. It is not clear if the report will be made public.
