An eight-hour standoff in Calgary's northwest has ended peacefully. Police were called to a home in Rocky Ridge at noon today after a woman told officers she was assaulted by an armed man. Duty Inspector Darren Leggatt says it took a long time but officers were able to talk the man out of his residence. Assault and weapons charges are pending against the suspect. Leggatt says the man and the woman know each other, but they don't know what the relationship is.
