Former Stamps coach Bud Riley dies

The Canadian Press is reporting that former Stampeders Coach Bud Riley has died at 86.

Riley coached Toronto, Winnipeg, Hamilton and Calgary in addition to other assistant and front office jobs in the CFL. Oregon State University announced Monday that Riley died Saturday after a lengthy illness. He had been living in BC. Riley was the father of Oregon State football coach Mike Riley and a former assistant coach at the school. Riley was an assistant coach at Oregon State from 1965-72 and returned to the school in 1979. He coached the Stampeders for the 1985 season.
