Alberta Innovates and Eli Lilly Canada have formed a partnership that will provide nearly 1.5 million dollars to researchers at the province's post secondary institutions.
The goal is to provide health care workers with more of the tools and medicines they need to provide quality health care. Alberta Innovates will manage the fund and applications will have to go through a peer review to determine if they qualify for grants up to 2 hundred thousand dollars a year. The province says that collaborations with the private sector can help speed up getting medical treatments to the marketplace including life saving drugs.
