The Calgary Stampede officially kicks off Friday, but already some people have had a look at the grounds. The Sneak-a-Peak saw attendance rise to 39,028 from 37,243 the previous year.
In downtown Calgary, some people starting staking out their seats for the parade at midnight, huddled into chairs and wrapped in blankets awaiting the 9 am start. The parade is being led by legendary singer Ian Tyson and the Chiefs of the Treaty 7 Nations.
