Flood fears start to subside, few advisories remain

It appears streamflow levels in the Bow and Elbow Rivers are on the way down.  It's become our "unofficial metre-stick" of how high the Elbow River is running.  At the height of the flood concerns, the pathway under the bridge on 25th Avenue South was submerged.  Now, you can see a line of debris where it reached its peak, but the water level is significantly lower and you can almost walk under the bridge.  The river is still moving fairly fast.  Alberta Environment now says all flood watches have been lifted.  High Streamflow Advisories remain in effect for the Bow River in and around Calgary as well as the Sheep River, Highwood River, Oldman River downstream of Lethbridge and the South Saskatchewan River including Medicine Hat.  No advisories or watches are in effect for the Elbow River as well as the Oldman upstream of Lethbridge and tributaries flowing out of the Cypress Hills.
