In a bid to address long wait times for health care, the University of Calgary, in conjunction with the province, is adding 26 new spots to the Faculty of Medicine for doctor training.
Officials say the hope is that the expansion to the university’s post-graduate family medicine residency program will lead to more doctors working in Alberta.
Ten more family medicine teaching physicians will also be added and they will be able to see their own patients while teaching.
