The Stampede unveiled a massive piece of art Friday afternoon in front of the agriculture building. By the Banks of the Bow is a tribute to the horse and features 15 horses and two cowboys. The massive sculpture features ranchers herding horses across the Bow river, some horses seem like they're climbing out of the river, others are dipping down to take a drink. Bob Spaith is one of two area sculptors and says he's still numb as the artwork was unveiled. He hopes it will be an iconic piece. The project was commissioned four years ago and sits in front of the agriculture building and Victoria Pavillion.
