Premier Alison Redford says it's easy for others to pick on Alberta as a producer but critics are ignoring the aspect of consumption.
The National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy says Canada is on target to achieve only half of its greenhouse gas emissions targets by 2020. The premier says Alberta's position is to take a pragmatic approach committed to environmental sustainability while extracting the resource.Alison Redford says part of what's missed when targeting Alberta is the angle of consumption. She says while production has stepped up, consumption is also up. Redford says what comes out of tailpipes is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions
