Delay in transmission power line hearing in Red Deer

Arguments in favour of adjourning a public hearing on the proposed Western Alberta Transmission Line were heard in Red Deer Tuesday. Lawyer Gavin Fitch says the hearing shouldn't go ahead until the Alberta Court of Appeal decides how much public interest the Alberta Utilities Commission must consider when it comes to power lines.
Fitch says he is asking for an adjournment of up to two months. Letters from various groups who want to see the hearing proceed as scheduled were also submitted. A decision isn't expected until at least Thursday.
