Mounties say the man they've charged with first degree murder in the death of an Innisfail woman last fall was Victoria Shachtay's financial advisor. He is also a former member of law enforcement.
55 year old Brian Malley appeared briefly via closed-circuit television in a Red Deer courtroom where the case was put over to July 9.
Malley faces three charges, including first-degree murder.
Vicki Shachtay died Nov. 25 when a package left on the doorstep at her townhouse in Innisfail blew up.
The 23-year-old, who was paralyzed in a car crash in 2004, had a seven-year-old daughter, who was at school at the time of the blast.
