In anticipation of the City's new Excessive Vehicle Noise Provision rolling out at the end of this month...hundreds of motorists turned out to test their vehicles noise levels today. Bylaw and C-P-S hosted a Noise Snare Demonstration at an enclosed track in the city's south east. Calgary By-Law's Bill Bruce says while the event is meant to be educational, it's also a reminder that there's a new noise bylaw in town. Bruce says the noise bylaw sets a limit of ninety-six decibels and was a response to the hundreds of vehicle noise complaints the city receives each year. Ward 8 Alderman John Mar was also on-hand and says he's encouraged by the turnout and the ninety per cent compliance rate observed at the event as vehicle noise remains a problem in his Ward.
