A couple days of steady rain is sitting well with most farmers across the province. Humphrey Banack is the vice-president of the Wildrose Agricultural Producers. He says the rain was welcomed by a large number of farmers who have finished planting. "We still have some producers out there who are struggling to put the end of their crop in and they'll have to struggle through the issues of this water," remarked Banack. "But as a general rule, I think general parts of the province have finished planting." Banack says the crop outlook is good right now. Adding the latest rainfall means cattle producers should be able to get their animals off feed and into the pastures - - where it's more economical to feed them. "All sectors are looking forward to a positive year. Beef and grain prices are in positive categories for us and we're looking forward to a good year and some rainfalls. And hopefully it only rains from Monday to Wednesday so the weekends are good."
