Fire and alcohol bans in place in many Alberta parks

As campers head out to hopefully enjoy some rays, park officials are reminding them not to bring their booze along.

Once again, alcohol is banned in Banff National Park right through until Monday.  As well a number of Alberta parks have banned alcohol until 6:00 Monday night.Fire bans are also in effect in many parts of the province.  Backcountry fires are prohibited in all wildland provincial parks, but fires are allowed in metal fire pits in designated campgrounds.

Here are the parks where temporary liquor bans are in place:

Aspen Beach

Cypress Hills

Dillberry Lake

Garner Lake

Jarvis Bay

Miquelon Lake

Pigeon Lake

Wabamun Lake

Whitney Lakes

Fire bans are in place in these local provincial parks:

Bluerock (Kananaskis Region)

Bob Creek (South Region)

Bow Valley (Kananaskis Region)

Brazeau Canyon (West Central Region)

Fort Assiniboine Sandhills (West Central Region)

Don Getty (Kananaskis Region)

Elbow-Sheep (Kananaskis Region)
