Premier Alison Redford will announce her new cabinet Tuesday.
She is expected to fill vacancies in key portfolios of finance, energy, and agriculture as five replacements are needed in the 21-member cabinet, due to resignations or defeats in last month's election.
Former energy Minister Ted Morton lost his seat as the opposition Wildrose swept through the ridings in the rural southern part of the province.
Fellow southerner MLA Evan Berger, the agriculture minister, and Jack Hayden, the tourism minister, also went down to defeat.
Ron Liepert, who was finance minister, did not run again.
