UFC 131: Carwin vs. Dos Santos - Preview

Posted 6/10/2011 11:41:00 AM

Here it is boys and girls, UFC 131: Carwin vs. Dos Santos.  This might not the main event we were originally promised, but it’s totally more badasser.

If you haven’t been following along, Junior dos Santos earned a shot at the Heavyweight Title with a win over Roy Nelson last August at UFC 117.  Cain Velasquez beat Brock Lesnar for his belt at UFC 121 but injured his shoulder in the fight.  Instead of sitting around waiting for Cain to heal, JDS wanted another fight so in steps Brock and an opportunity to coach The Ultimate Fighter; winner gets to fight Cain for the strap however Brock had another bout of diverticulitis and in steps Shane Carwin.  As awesome as Lesnar versus dos Santos would’ve been, the replacement matchup turns it up to 11.  Carwin and dos Santos are the two most vicious heavyweight knockout artists in UFC history.  ...

UFC 130: Rampage vs. Hamill Preview - Part Deux

Former WEC Light Heavyweight Champ "All-American" Brian Stann will take ...

UFC 130: Rampage vs. Hamill Preview - Part 1

Posted 5/25/2011 11:04:00 PM

UFC 130: Rampage vs. Hamill is this Saturday and what was once a super-badass card of awesome has been slowly downgraded to aight.  The original main event was supposed to be Frankie Edgar versus Gray Maynard for the Lightweight Title.  Those two dudes battled (and I mean battled) to a draw at UFC 125 and this was supposed to be the epic rematch (tri-match?).  Both guys, however, had to pull out of the bout earlier this month because of injuries and will have their eventual third fight… eventually.

The co-main event for this card was originally rumoured to be Quinton "Rampage" Jackson versus Thiago Silva.  Silva, however, failed his drug test from his last fight and that idea was quickly scrapped.  Meanwhile, Tito Ortiz was supposed to fight Little Nog at UFC Fight Night: Seattle but pulled out cause of a training injury and was replace by "Mr. Wonderful" ...
