Vancouver Whitecaps vs New England Revolution May 12th

The Vancouver Whitecaps looked to continue their winning ways Saturday in Foxboro as they walked into Gillette Stadium to face the New England Revolution. Martin Rennie rested some players in anticipation of a pair of games next week, as Jay DeMerit, Camilo, and John Thorrington were left home. Carlyle Mitchell and Alain Rochat were left to man the back line with Y.P. Lee and Jordan Harvey on the wings. In the midfield Jun Marquez Davidson was in the center of midfield with Davide Chiumiento and Gershon Koffie on either side. Up front Omar Salgado was on the left, with Eric Hassli in the center and Sebastian Le Toux on the right.

First chance fell to the Whitecaps with Hassli sending in Le Toux all alone early but Le Toux failed to get his shot past New England keeper Matt Reis.

Vancouver Whitecaps vs FC Dallas April 21

Vancouver Whitecaps 1 (Camilo) - FC Dallas 0

The Vancouver Whitecaps entertained FC Dallas Saturday night under the open dome at BC Place, with just over 18,000 taking in the festivities.  The Whitecaps made four changes from their loss against Sporting Kansas City midweek, with Camilo, Matt Watson and Jun Marquez Davidson drawing back in and Omar Salgado making his first start of the season.

The Whitecaps got off the mark quickly, with Camilo generating a couple half chances before making one count, cutting in off the right side and left footing a strike over FC Dallas Keeper Chris Seitz, who was a last minute replacement for regular starter Kevin Hartman who complained of back spasms.

Vancouver lead 1-0 after 10 minutes and it was FC Dallas who slowly started to push after that, with US international Brek Shae being the focal point of many Dallas attacks.  Shae also earned ...



Vancouver Whitecaps vs Sporting KC April 18th

The Vancouver Whitecaps played host to the MLS league leading Sporting Kansas City wednesday night in front of just over 15,000 at BC Place.

Whitecaps forward Eric Hassli picked up an early yellow card which set the tone for a fairly physical affair.

KC responded physically in the 17th minute when Sebastian Le Toux got pushed into the side advertising boards by Aurelian Collin, resulting in a yellow card for the KC defender. 

In the 23rd minute, Collin played goal scorer tapping the ball into the net after the Whitecaps failed to clear a corner, giving KC a 1-0 lead.

The Whitecaps got their first shot on target soon after, with Sebastian Le Toux getting onto the end of a Y.P. Lee cross but KC keeper Jimmy Neilsen was euql to the task.  The Whitecaps would press for the equalizer late in the first half but couldn't capitalize, going into ...
