One person is dead, and at least 20 others have been hurt after a speeding car ploughed through a crowd of pedestrians in Times Square.
A law enforcement official say the incident happened after a man drove the wrong way up a Times Square street and onto the sidewalk.
The official says the 26-year-old driver was arrested and is being tested for alcohol, and has a history of driving while intoxicated.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing.
Police say they do not believe there is a link to terrorism, however, the bomb squad was called to the scene as a precaution.
