The City of White Rock is warning residents about a potential telephone scam, which may target seniors.
The city says a resident received a call from an individual asking about her water consumption.
The person then asked if the resident lived alone, her age, and if she showered alone.
The resident then received a follow-up call, telling her she had won free ‘water testing’ and that they would come to her home to take free water samples.
The city is cautioning residents, particularly seniors, to be vigilant.
White Rock RCMP is asking anyone who receives the call to contact them at 778-593-3600.
