While emergency officials monitor water levels in the Okanagan, another evacuation order has been issued following a landslide that took place around 7 p.m. Saturday night.
Spokesperson Jason Luciw with Central Okanagan Emergency Operations says 17 properties were affected below Kilkenny Place, but that luckily nobody was hurt.
“So of those 17 properties, it appears eight people are receiving emergency operations support services assistance, other than that, we’re continuing to watch the situation for them and determine when they can safely return home.”
Explaining there was some rainfall overnight, Luciw says creek levels didn’t rise, but officials are monitoring Okanagan Lake.

“Sitting right now at about 242.6 meters, that’s getting pretty close to the level where we might get concerned which is about 343 meters, still has ways to go.”
He says approximately 400 residents remain evacuated in the area.
