It’s expected to be a tough day at Surrey’s Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School, after the death of a much loved student last week in a car crash.
Travis Selje was killed after a crash Wednesday night.
The 17-year-old’s friends and classmates will be at school on Monday for the first time since news of his death was officially announced.
Principal Gloria Sarmento says everyone is sad and grieving.
“We’ve brought in additional counsellors, and we’ll be meeting as a staff, and we’ve got other additional staff, clerical staff, etc. to help with managing today,” she says.
“It will definitely be a hard day for our students and staff.”
Sarmento says she wants to allow family and friends time to share their memories of him, adding Travis was an amazing young man.
Selje is described by soccer coaches as a “budding superstar.”
