More flooding has prompted a new round of evacuations in Kelowna.
The Central Okanagan Regional District issued a new batch of evacuation orders affecting multiple buildings at the Holiday Park resort Sunday afternoon, due to worsening conditions at Shorts Creek.
Residents of the following properties have been told to pack up and register at an Emergency Support Services Reception Centre located at the Salvation Army Church on Surtherland Avenue.
- 415 Commonwealth Road, Holiday Park– Beachview building
- 415 Commonwealth Road, Holiday Park – Park Place building
- 7841 Highway 97 – Turtle Bay Lodges
A new evacuation alert has also been issued for units 445, 447, 449, 451 and 453 of Holiday Park.
The CORD says residents on alert should take steps to protect their property from possible flooding.
More than two dozen other evacuation orders and alerts remain in effect and can be seen here, along with an evacuation order for Fintry Provincial Park.
A local state of emergency remains in effect for the City of Kelowna, the City of West Kelowna, and the Fintry Delta.
