Internationally renowned rock group U2 is clearly putting a lot of prep into their new worldwide tour and according to social media, they’re starting right here in Vancouver.
Fans of the band have reported that more than a week ahead of the tour, which starts next Friday, sounds of the band’s rehearsals can be heard just outside BC Place.
Twitter user @_Phelix was the first to post a video on Twitter, and the information soon spread like wildfire, with sharp-eared superfans turning out to hear the possible setlist.
And as residents nearby found out, the noise wasn’t just next to the stadium – the band’s rehearsals could be heard from blocks around.

The sound was music to many fans’ ears, considering tickets to the long-anticipated concert sold out in just minutes, only to show up online for exorbitantly expensive prices.
Many blamed ticket re-sellers for the issue, going as far as to call for new legislation to be passed.
However, the band’s rehearsals seemed to serve as a consolation prize for those fans who weren’t willing to dish out close to $11,000.

Who needs tickets to the U2 show when you've heard them rehearsing from your living room the past 4 hours. #vancouver

Ending the Vancouver trip hearing a U2 practice across from our hotel. Best vacation and work trip ever.

Even CKNW’s own Michelle Morton couldn’t resist tweeting something.

But not everyone was a fan of the loud rehearsals, which some reports say lasted from 8 a.m. to as late as 11 p.m.
Residents from around the stadium politely bemoaned the noise stretching late into the night.

While others weren’t quite as kind.
But above all, the rehearsals raise one big question: Just how loud is this concert going to be?
Should people who are going to the u2 concert at BC place be worried cause they're doing a rehearsal and our office is VIBRATING.

Ticketholders (and, it seems, the rest of Vancouver) are slated to find out when the concert actually takes place, May 12.
