A massive snow slide has blocked a rural road in Revelstoke on Airport Way, closing the road for further notice.
Regional Director for Columbia Shuswap regional district Loni Parker says it’s not disrupting traffic.
“There would be some effects for the folks that would like to go on either side of it but the homes on the north side of the slide, so the residents would not be affected by the slide itself.”
However, she does say the slide affected multiple areas.
“It’s on a rural road, not on a major highway. It will affect the forest industry, anyone who would be driving further south to access the flat areas, there’s also some recreation areas down there.”
She says though snow slides are normal for the area, it will probably take a few days to clean up.
Parker isn’t aware of any injuries, though CKNW is waiting to confirm that with the RCMP.
