Vancouver police say a repeat sex offender who walked away from a halfway house in the city has been arrested in Saskatchewan.
A Canada-wide warrant was issued for 46-year-old Joseph Davis after he vanished on Tuesday.
Police say a citizen in Langenburg, Saskatchewan recognized Davis’ grey Mercedes from media reports and reported him to the RCMP.
Shortly after, Mounties located and arrested him; he remains in custody.
Davis is a four-time federal offender, most recently serving a four-year sentence for sexual assault.
In 2007, he attacked a Winnipeg realtor after luring her to his home, and six years prior to that, he was convicted of assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement of a female sex worker.
