A Victoria man has been charged with first-degree murder following the shooting death of a 34-year-old man in Nanaimo early Wednesday morning.
RCMP say 30-year-old Brandon Woody also faces a charge of possessing a firearm while prohibited.
When police arrived at the lobby of the Howard Johnson hotel, they found the victim dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
A suspect was arrested an hour later and police say the shooting appears to have been targeted.
Woody remains in custody and appears in court on May 2nd.
Police haven’t yet released the name of the man killed.
