Despite being out of the way for many people, the recently-opened Tsawwassen Mills shopping centre is meeting projections with 2.7-million shoppers through the doors in the last six months.
General manager Mark Fenwick says they expect to see six million by the end of year one.

He says about 20 per cent of customers are from outside Metro Vancouver.
“Certainly a lot of that is from Vancouver Island, our complimentary shuttle from the ferry has been a success bringing thousands of people from the terminal to the shopping centre.”
He says many mall employees are also getting to work by a shuttle service running from Surrey’s Scott Road SkyTrain Station.
And even though online shopping is growing trend, Fenwick says they still offer something people want.
“E-commerce is definitely growing, but what we are seeing is that there will always be demand for a physical experience, and we offer something unique in the Lower Mainland.”
The mall employs 3,000 people and is attracting other development nearby including a new housing subdivision.
