Some closure for one elderly Surrey woman who was the victim of a brutal home invasion and sexual assault two years ago.
44-year-old Stephen Thomas Morse was handed a 13-year prison sentence Friday; minus time served, he will spend another ten and a half years behind bars.
Morse pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault, forcible confinement, break-and-enter, robbery, disguise with intent, and use of an imitation firearm last week for the attack.
Back in August of 2015, a 70-year-old woman had returned home from grocery shopping when Morse had forced his way into the house.
He tied her up, demanded cash, and when she couldn’t meet his demands, physically and sexually abused her.
Morse was tracked down about a month after, thanks to tips from the public and CCTV footage showing him wearing a wig as a disguise.
