The Port Moody couple who won last week’s $9.3-million 6/49 jackpot plans to share their new-found wealth with family, but not before fixing up an heirloom.
Retirees Kurt and Marlis Gebeshuber say they’ll share the money, but Kurt says he’ll first restore his original 1965 Pontiac Parisienne.
He says the car has a special connection to a Canadian superstar.
“Bryan Adams used – in one of his videos ‘summer of 69’ – he used my Pontiac to finish his video because one of his broke down.”
So Adams had asked Kurt if he could use his car.
“There’s a few minutes of my car in that video and I’m so proud of it. That was my biggest thrill ever, so now I have the money to get this car back on the road.”
The 74-year-old also says he and his wife plan on travelling to Europe, including their home countries of Austria and Germany, and to buy an RV so they can travel across Canada with their dogs.
