Canada’s so-called “Princess of Pot” thinks some of the restrictions in the federal Liberals’ proposals to legalize marijuana, go too far.
Jodie Emery says the rule forcing people to register to grow no more than four plants and none taller than one metre, is too strict.
She thinks growers should be given regulations similar to craft beer.
“If you want to grow some cannabis and take it to the Farmers’ Market, you should be allowed to sell it alongside the vegetables you grow in the dirt and manure and sell to people. It should be sold alongside the honey and the smoked salmon.”
Vancouver City Councillor Kerry Jang noted legal, home-grown marijuana plants would be registered with municipal, provincial or federal governments, if the bill passed.
