One man is in hospital after a fire at the Washington Hotel in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
Vancouver Fire crews were called to the area, on Hastings between Columbia and Main, at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday night.
It was in a suite on the 4th floor, which had one man inside.
Assistant Chief Martin Paulson says the man was injured.
“They found he had significant burns to his chest and upper torso.”
He was treated and handed over to BC Ambulance.
His condition, as well as the cause of the fire, isn’t known.
Residents have been allowed back into the building.
