The City of Surrey has announced a new partnership with United Way to help vulnerable British Columbians.
Director of Public Safety Terry Waterhouse says all of Surrey’s resources are now available through a 24/7 organization online at BC211.ca
“Which links people who are challenged with a number of issues, which could be, you know, addictions, homelessness, housing, mental health, directly up to the services that they need.”
“Right through that website they can link up, and there’s a chat feature where they can send email, find out more information… and they can directly connect with an individual who will help them out, find them resources and make a referral for them to one of those agencies.”
Waterhouse says while all the resources are found in Surrey, the services are available to everyone in the province.
