Health Canada has issued a warning after seizing a number of unauthorized health products from a Richmond distributor that it says could be harmful to people’s health.
It says products were being shipped out of EPCA Shipping on Horseshoe Way, the Canadian distribution centre for a website called extremepeptides.com
Health Canada says the products, which were labelled to contain prescription drugs, were marketed as treatments for cancer, infertility, respiratory diseases, thyroid problems and erectile dysfunction.
Anyone who has purchased the products should stop using them immediately, and consult with a doctor if they have concerns.
It says the affected products include:
- T3 (Liothyorine)
The federal health regulator has provided a more detailed background on the drugs here.
It says it is now working with Canada Border Services Agency to block any further importation of the products and identify any other potential distributors.
It also advises consumers to check health products to ensure they’re approved by Health Canada.
