While we won’t know exactly how much it’s going to cost the government to restore class size and composition until September, the BC Teachers’ Federation says school districts around the province can expect some money to roll in by the end of March.
BCTF President Glen Hansman says school districts have been in constant contact with the Ministry of Education.
“Every school district has different class size language, different language around specialist teachers and they’re figuring out how to organize schools in September and staff based on that.”
Hansman says districts should expect the funds to flow in the next couple weeks.
An estimate for that is still up in the air.
“No…No, no one has given a firm amount yet,” he says.
The province has put aside up to $320-million for the deal.
