The search has ended on Mica Mountain in the South Cariboo region for two missing snowmobilers who have been spotted Sunday around 11:30 a.m. by air.
Their condition is not known at this time.
100 Mile House RCMP confirmed the search had been ongoing since 9 p.m. Saturday.
The area was a tough one to search, as the avalanche risk is high, but many people turned out to help, according to Constable Matt Young.
“Well we have a large amount of search and rescue members, as well as RCMP resources and as well, with the social media aspect of things, there’s been several people that have shown up, just members of the public wanting to get out and help there with combing the area there on their own personal snowmobiles.”
The duo, both men, were believed to be equipped to spend a night outside.
Young says the names of the individuals are not being released at this time.
