Most people have their power back on after a transmission circuit failure cut electricity to nearly 9,000 customers early Sunday morning.
People living in Harrison Mills, Harrison Hot Springs, Agassiz, Hope and Yale lost power shortly before 1 a.m.
Spokesperson Mora Scott says they’re not sure what caused the circuit to fail.
“Sometimes the fixers can be quite quick, sometimes they do take a little bit more time, but crews have been dispatched and hope to get everybody up pretty quickly.”
Some sections of highway also lost power: Lougheed from the Harrison River Bridge to Seabird Island Road, Highway 1 from Hope to Yale, Highway 3 from Hope to
Eastgate, and the Coquihalla from Hope to exit 202.
