The truck driver pulled from his rig in Manning Park after two days trapped inside the vehicle has died of his injuries.
Family members took to social media this afternoon to confirm Pat Gaudet’s passing.
Just after 1 p.m., his Aunt Joyce McCardle posted the following to Facebook:
“Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Just to let you know that Pat passed away about 6 AM BC time. Unfortunately before Melinda [his mother] could get there; however she is in BC now.”
The news has devastated friends and family of the father of two.
“He’s a great support to his mother, he married Yvonne – the love of his life. He has two beautiful girls. Everybody is in shock,” McCardle told Global News.

The crash happened back on February 28, on an area of highway 3 just east of Sunshine Valley known as Rhododendron Flats in Manning Park.
It’s unclear what went wrong, but Gaudet’s truck went over an embankment, crashing down about 100 feet.
It wasn’t until the next day that Gaudet was reported missing and a search launched, and another until he was located.
Search and rescue crews were eventually able to extricate him and he was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
