As we inch closer to the provincial election, expect to see and hear a lot more political ads in the very near future.
But should these advertisements have to follow strict guidelines and legislation? A 2014 BC Auditor General Report recommended the government “establish a general policy that explicitly prohibits the use of partisan political information in public government communication,” something the government has yet to implement.
Should the provincial government be using taxpayer dollars towards political videos disguised as advertisements?
