White Rock RCMP say an extreme sporting accident has sent a man to hospital Wednesday afternoon.
Constable Chantal Sears says a bystander called mounties after seeing the person landing hard on the beach just after noon.
“The person seemed to be in distress… the injured male has been since airlifted to hospital with undetermined injuries at this time.”
Ambulance, fire, and police crews responded to the call and Sears says the man was conscious and breathing before being transferred to the hospital.

CKNW has received information that suggests the victim was power-paragliding, a form of paragliding with a motor on the back providing lift.
Sears says police are unaware of the extent of his injuries.
She adds this is the first incident of this nature she has seen in her time with White Rock RCMP.
