It took Burnaby firefighters two hours to knock down a spectacular fire early this Friday morning at Kingsway and Imperial.
Assistant Fire Chief Laine Zimmerman says, “Our crews arrived here at 2am. It’s a used furniture warehouse. We had 8 crews responding. There’s no damage to the buildings on either side here. It was just a defensively fought fire so the crews remained outside and just tried to pour a bunch of water on it. That’s about all we could do. The fire started in the rear and looked like it was a truck that was originally burning so at that time it spread to the building.”
He says investigators will go over the scene later today to determine if the cause is suspicious.
No one was hurt.
