With Tuesday’s provincial budget just around the corner, the BC Liberals splashed some cash on education on Sunday.
With all eyes and ears focused on the budget, Education Minister Mike Bernier rolled out a $29-million student learning grant.
The money is to be used for things like textbooks, computer programs, and athletic gear.
The Ministry says it amounts to about $50 per public school student.
On the heels of the teachers’ Supreme Court of Canada win, political watchers are waiting to see how much the $5.1-billion education budget will grow.
A $2.25-billion dollar surplus is forecasted in the budget.
