A settlement has been reached in a sexual harassment lawsuit against a high-profile RCMP officer.
Back in 2014, former RCMP spokesperson Inspector Tim Shields had filed a statement of defense, saying not only did he not harass a female colleague, but called the allegations flat out wrong.
Almost a year later, Shields had been suspended with pay in the wake of the two separate lawsuits filed against him accusing him of sexual harassment.
A lawyer for one of the women embroiled in the suit now confirms to CKNW the parties have resolved their civil litigation, but doesn’t go into detail.
Shields is still facing a criminal trial for sexual assault, which is still ongoing.
None of the civil or criminal allegations against him have been tested in court.
