A federal appeals court in San Francisco has released its ruling in the legal fight against President Donald Trump’s travel ban.
The panel of three judges from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled against reinstating the ban on travellers from seven predominantly Muslim nations – Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.
According to Global News, the court said that the Trump administration failed to offer evidence of national security concerns to justify the ban, and didn’t demonstrate that failure to reinstate the ban would cause irreparable injury.
A U.S. District Judge in Seatlle, James Robart, issued a temporary restraining order on the ban last week.
Trump’s reaction to today’s ruling came through Twitter.
SEE YOU IN COURT, THE SECURITY OF OUR NATION IS AT STAKE!
