Avalanche Canada has issued a special warning that will go into effect Friday, February 10 and is slated to finish by Monday. February 13.
It covers the Kananaskis County and Waterton Lakes National Park.
It will also include the South Rockies and Lizard and Flathead regions.
The southern part of the Purcells region and the eastern part of the Kootenay Boundary is also included.
Fresh precipitation from the recent storms has doubled the depth of the current snowpack.
That, combined with more snow, wind and warming temperatures could make for unstable conditions.
