It looks like Vancouver General Hospital is getting a cash injection from various agencies.
B.C. is announcing $102 million for expanding access to surgical care at the hospital.
The money will go towards 16 new state-of-the-art operating rooms.
It’ll also go towards a 40-bed hospital unit for pre-and-post-operation care.
$34 million will come from the province, about $20 million will come from the VGH and UBC Hospital Foundation, and $47 million will come from Vancouver Coastal Health.
Completion of the project is slated for 2021.
