ICBC says customers who purchase optional comprehensive coverage will receive free windshield chips repairs, as long as it is “safe and appropriate to do so.”
The new windshield repair program is set to begin this spring and is estimated to save $8-million a year on claims province-wide.
ICBC president and CEO Mark Blucher says the program is in response to customer feedback and hopes it will improve the value and services for its customers.
“This new program truly demonstrates our commitment to listening to the feedback we have received from customers and stakeholders on ways we can make our services better,” reads part of a press release.
ICBC says this initiative demonstrates their commitment to the environment, estimating 8,000 fewer windshields will end up in B.C.’s landfills each year as a result.
